Just a little can do so much
Dear Family and Friends
As most of you are aware, I am a member of the Lions Club of West Pennant Hills / Cherrybrook. The Lions Club is a community based organisation which is involved in various community projects such as medical research, youth programmes, bush fires and drought support.
Each year our Club
conducts a major raffle to raise funds for the Westmead Hospital Children’s
Cancer Research Unit . Over the years the Club has raised over $100,000 to
purchase vital equipment for the Research Unit. These funds are usually raised
through a major raffle that we hold from August to November each year. Due to COVID 19 in 2020 the Club could
not conduct its usual raffle so the Club has created a funding raising
page in conjunction with The Children’s Hospital at Westmead to raise much
needed funds for essential medical equipment.
Our goal is to raise $27,000 for the
purchase of a Gravitational Brain Transducer ($15,000), pilot scans of 10
patients ($7000) and comparative MRE analysis of laboratory mini-brain models
($5,000).
Should you wish to contribute to this worthy cause please donate.

We're holding an event to raise funds for the Children's Hospital Childhood Cancer Research Unit at Westmead!
West Pennant Hills-Cherrybrook Lions Club has donated to
the Westmead's Children’s Cancer Research Unit (CCRU) to enable the purchase of
much needed equipment for over 10 years with over $100,000 raised .
The Children’s Hospital at Westmead cares for several hundred young cancer
patients every year. Of these, more than half are enrolled in clinical trials
that provide access to drugs that have been shown to work. This gives young
children and their families’ new hope using the latest treatments.
The West Pennant Hills-Cherrybrook Lions Club is a major donor to the CCRU,
a position it has held for many years now. The Lions Club’s annual Charity
fundraiser assists the unit’s equipment needs as well as support the dedicated
team of researchers continuing their wonderful work. Due to COVID 19 in 2020
our usual street fund raising activity for the CCRU has ceased so we have
created this funding raising page to raise much needed funds for medical equipment
as outlined below.
A contribution of $27,000 will generously support purchase of the
Gravitational Brain Transducer ($15,000), pilot scans of 10 patients ($7000)
and comparative MRE analysis of laboratory mini-brain models ($5,000).
